ENTRY FEE: $2,500 early entry – $3,000 entry after Sunday, June 28th
ENTRY LIMITS: No limits on number or size of boats, open to both private and charter boats
TARGET SPECIES: Blue Marlin (108” minimum), Swordfish (47" minimum), White Marlin, Sailfish & Spearfish (release only). A 20 lb. minimum applies for all meat fish (tuna, wahoo, dolphin).

1 POINT per lb. (for example: a 515.6 lb. B/M will score 515.6 points)
Billfish Release Division Scoring
Blue Marlin: 600 points
White Marlin / Spearfish: 250 points
Sailfish / Unidentified Billfish: 200 points
TOURNAMENT AWARDS: Awards consist of the following 6 categories: Blue Marlin, Billfish Release, Swordfish, Tuna, Dolphin, Wahoo . There will also be a separate award for the Top Lady Angler and Top Jr Angler (16 yrs or younger). A perpetual trophy will be given to the overall winner of the Tournament for 1 year.

Access to the event area will be restricted to participants and their paid guests (you will receive 6 tickets with your entry). Wristbands for all of your crew and guests will be distributed during registration on Wednesday, July 29th. Additional wristbands for Wednesday and Saturday night are available for purchase. We strongly encourage purchasing any extra tickets in advance for Saturday night.

Access to Tuesday night’s “Captain & Mate’s Party” is free to all tournament participants (wristbands not required).
The general public is encouraged to attend the weigh-in at Hooks on the Brazos on Saturday starting around 4:00 pm. During other Tournament functions, access will be restricted to Tournament participants only, their guests and those with wristbands purchased thru the Tournament.
If you plan to depart from another port (outside of Freeport, TX), you MUST do the following prior to Wednesday, 10:30 pm:
Submit Payment for Team Entry and Optional Side Pots
Receive “Object of the Day” from Tournament Committee
Speak with Tournament Director to review Rules prior to departure
NOTE: The Texas Billfish Classic is non-IGFA tournament.
Teams leaving Freeport will depart in a boat parade starting at 10:00 am on Thursday morning from Freeport Marina. Boats departing any other Texas port can leave at 12:00 pm noon. You MUST film departure with GPS time stamp if leaving from another port (than Freeport).
All boats MUST return to Freeport, TX to weigh fish and turn in video release verifications to receive tournament points. Boats must be inside the tip of the Freeport jetties to be verified by Tournament Control by 4:00 pm on Saturday, August 1st, NO EXCEPTIONS.
